Flipkart is a hugely popular online retailing giant from India. Nearly an year ago, Flipkart launched Flyte music service which enabled its vast Indian user-base to buy and download legit copies of DRM free songs from a wide array of artists and movies at reasonable rates. One thing the service lacked from day one was a dedicated download manager for Ubuntu (and Linux). Well, that issue has been solved now.
Flyte Music Download Manager for Ubuntu
Flipkart is like the Amazon of India. They started off with books, like Amazon, and now has almost every kind of products at their disposal. Flipkart have already sold millions of songs through their Flyte mp3 downloads service. And so it is significant that they released a dedicated download manager for Ubuntu along with Windows and Mac. Even though there are no concrete statistics around, Ubuntu is mighty popular in many parts of India (like Android) and that can also be a reason for this release.

- Simply double-click to install it.
- OR run "sudo dpkg -i ~/Downloads/FILENAME" without quotes on Terminal. Remember to replace FILENAME with the actual name of downloaded file.
I have just tested this out on my machine running Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" and it seems to work fine. Downloaded almost 600 odd songs from my Flyte music library without a hitch. Thank you Flipkart! Let us know your feedback about the app.
