Canonical makes another small yet significant change in Ubuntu 10.10. Downloaded DEB packages will no longer open with GDebi package installer by default, instead it opens with Ubuntu Software Center!
I was about to install the new Google Talk plugin for enabling voice and video chat in Ubuntu and seeing Ubuntu Software Center in place of GDebi installer was a real surprise.
In my opinion, that is an awesome move. Canonical's attention to detail is clearly evident yet again. Software Center is indeed getting a lot of attention, which is good.
