Think you all knew this already, the c-korn/vlc ppa has been removed by the author himself. You can't live without PPAs in Ubuntu especially for most downloaded apps like VLC. Guys at
LFFL have made a dedicated PPA for VLC. I just gave it a try and it worked awesome.
Install Latest VLC 1.1.4 in Ubuntu 10.04 From the New PPA - The latest VLC 1.1.4 is available with the repo and it's working great. Copy-paste the following lines into Terminal to install the new PPA and the latest VLC 1.1.4
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/vlc && sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc mozilla-plugin-vlc
- If you have already installed VLC in Ubuntu, remove the c-korn/vlc PPA first and then install this new PPA as shown above. Afterwards do an upgrade simply.
sudo apt-get upgrade
