SMPlayer
SMplayer is an incredibly good front end of award winning MPlayer multimedia player for Linux. SMplayer can play the most known audio and video formats without any need of external codecs.
SMPlayer can remember the settings of all files you play. Which means, for some reason if you have to leave SMPlayer in the middle of the movie, for example, and you come back and try playing the same movie again, SMPlayer will start from where you left it before, with the same settings that include audio track, subtitles, volume etc. This simple feature gives SMPlayer a sophisticated feel and is also one of the primary reasons for using it as my default media player.
